Body Armor - Rifle Threat 8x10"
8x10” Plates are really built for those who are smaller in stature. If you are 5’2” and below, these are what you need to stay protected and feel comfortable! Just remember these smaller plates typically require a carrier made it fit this size or an insert to avoid “slop” during use.

PRODUCT DETAILS
Constructed from lab certified AR500 Omega Armor, (1/4” thickness) these plates provide the operator with Level III protection (IAW NIJ0101.06 standards).
With all AR500 Spartan Armor Systems™ AR500 products, only ballistic LAB CERTIFIED AR500 is used! All Spartan Armor products have current lab certificates available on request. Remember, not all body armor is created equal!
THE SPARTAN ARMOR PROCESS
You have the choice of getting our AR500 Omega Armor formed on a continual radius die in a Single Curve, or with Spartan Armors Advanced Triple Curve ™. Instead of bending the formed plates in 2 different locations, Spartan Armor Systems have machined custom tooling to give these plates a nice curvature to best conform to your torso. Spartan Armor Systems™ is proud to be the FIRST in the industry to commercially offer triple-curved AR500 body armor. Spartan Armor Systems’ ATC™ body armor allows the operator to shoulder their weapon with the most freedom with limited discomfort. The ATC™ armor better “hugs” the operator’s body, resulting in a significant increase in comfort. Spartan Armor Systems CNC capabilities have allowed them to create dies that form the body armor without any “crease” bends. Crease bends cause a significant amount of stress to the portion of the plate under load. When doing your research Spartan Armor HIGHLY suggests you ask the competition if they use crease bend their body armor. This process results in increased potential for plate fatigue and failure, which is why Spartan Armor Systems™ has gone the extra mile to create their CNC and die process.
Spartan Armor Systems is excited to announce their potentially “lifesaving” breakthrough, Encapsaloc ™! This is a proprietary Anti-frag/Anti-spall coating meant to capture the fragments of a bullet, should it strike the armor. Both sides of Spartan Armor plates are coated with Encapsaloc ™ however, the back side only has a “courtesy coat” to protect against wear and rust. The front of the plate is lined with 1/4-3/8 of the proprietary Encapsaloc ™ coating. The result is a plate of approximately 1/2-5/8” total thickness.
Due to popular demand, Spartan Armor has added a “base coat” option for its AR500 armor products. The base coat option has an extremely thin layer of their Encapsaloc ™ fragmentation mitigation coating to aesthetically enhance the plates and to provide corrosion resistance. This coating has minimal, if any, fragmentation mitigation capabilities. If you want additional protection from fragments, you should opt for a build-up/double-coated plate. These plates have twice the thickness of Encapsaloc ™ applied to the front of the plate!

Why would someone look at buying a “Swimmers Cut” armor plate? Here’s the good: If you are looking for increased mobility, increased comfort, and a decrease in weight, while minimally sacrificing armor coverage, you should look at an armor plate with swimmers cut. The bad? Usually, you may have to invest in a carrier and trauma pads with the same cut. Additionally, the minimalist coverage may make some people naked and no, swimmers cut plates won’t float.. ;)
